Nordstrom Rack: Abound top and BCBGeneration Casey heels, BCBG jacket (old purchased at Guam outlet), American Eagle shorts, Meredith Hahn necklace, Mimi Boutique bag, Prada sunglasses, Daniel Wellington watch

Subtle is my favorite rebuttal.

Meaning, when I'm tired of my wardrobe I get back at it by wearing the most simple, basic pieces I have. However, after some thought I just couldn't resist adding some edgy and tough accessories like zippers, studs and fringe. And you know it's better to fall back on basic because later it is easier to emerge renewed and inspired.

I actually got my top and heels at Nordstrom Rack this past weekend and went a little shopping-cart-crazy. You will have to wait to see my other purchases but I am pleased to say that my receipt reports a saving of $176! They had a whole bunch of Back to School racks and seriously the deals are incredible. If I had had more time I would have grabbed some Joes Jeans and 7 for all Mankind denim. One girl asked my opinion on a pair of $1000 Valentino heels marked down to $250. I said she better get them or I will! :)

Did you guys know that Nordstrom Rack is now online!? Now shopping with great savings is even easier! They get new stuff daily so don't be afraid to check NordstromRack.com out. Don't forget also that Nordstrom Rack wants to know YOUR shopping confession too! Share your best kept #ShopGenius shopping secret with your favorite spring trend on Instagram. Tag #ShopGenius for a chance to be featured on @NordstromRack’s Instagram account :)

Now this is one adorable little number. But that neckline... woah. It's a big open V in the back too. So I had to put my sticky bra on kind of vertical like ;-) I've also noticed that it is probably better suited for larger chested women and a lot of fashion tape! Anyways, shot this in SF too but we really could have shot it anywhere. It was so windy but hopefully you can't tell! I love the light blue color of this dress and am now tempted to buy more stuff in pretty pastels.

Congrats to Sunny Thompson for winning the Keep giveaway in a previous post. You will be contacted soon :)

Happy Tuesday all!

Red Rose

fashion blog

Happy Sunday! This is a classy, easy look. But the slightly sheer top makes it both casual and unexpected. Mike and I shot this while we were in SF recently. Right on the City Hall steps too! I love this skirt because it is so structured. I've been noticing a lot lately as I've been wearing more Cameo items, they make some really high quality (thick) items.

I realized I haven't picked the Keep winner yet so I'll announce them in my next post!

Neutral Summer Palette

fashion blog
This is part of a sponsored partnership with Head & Shoulders

Today I went for a really neutral summer look, perfect for a nice brunch/lunch with the ladies – or better yet a California summer date night :) The dress has this lovely neon yellow peeking out between the lace and the back design is really beautiful. I wore a sticky bra with it, and I wanted to let you guys in on a little secret about no show/strapless bras! Don’t follow the application directions! (DO wash them and dry them etc. though.) Just place them however and wherever you want. Adjust them to what you are wearing. For example, for a top/dress with a deep V-cut, do not connect them and place them vertically! Or high neck tops, don’t bother trying to create cleavage, just focus on the shape. This is especially useful as they get less sticky over time, but can be done even on day one.

Something I also wanted to talk a little bit about is my hair (and scalp) and how I keep it clean and smelling great – not just during the summer, but year round. I am pretty sure everyone has a dandruff spell at least once in their life and I’ve found that one of the best things I can do is to use Head & Shoulders regularly! With the Head & Shoulders shampoo and conditioner regimen, you don’t have to worry about dandruff and can have the confidence to showcase your scalp and beautiful hair, and totally #ownthepart with your hairstyle! J

I recently discovered that Head and Shoulders even came out with a totally upgraded and refreshing line with amazing scents like Classic Clean, Green Apple, Smooth & Silky (which smells like raspberries and vanilla). The top notes are activated during the shower which, if you shower in the morning, can create a really wonderful surround-scent experience and a positive start on your day. The formula is pH balanced and good for everyday use, even on color treated or permed hair. The conditioner even makes the shampoo more effective by maximizing the most important scalp protecting ingredient: ZPT (zinc pyrithione)! I hope I could help someone today so please don't be afraid to give it a try!

Miami Swim Week with TRESemmé: Recap Part 2 (July 19-20)

Here we go with part two of my Miami Swim Week Recap with TRESemmé which includes Saturday and Sunday!! :)

 1. By Friday night I started coming down with a cold so I ended up sleeping later to catch up and missed the Blogger Brunch which made me sad! But then around 4 pm TRESemmé hair stylist Tyler Laswell came over to do my final TRESemmé hair look. We decide to go with a dramatic half up-do using tons of TRES Two Extra Hold-hairspray (to keep this look holding all day in the Miami heat!), his magic fairy dust and bobby pins. fashion blog
2. Selfie time :) Feeling like a diva with this hair :) Wearing M.A.C Chatterbox lipstick.

3. I wanted to get a shot with our hotel, since we really loved staying at the Sagamore. :)

4. Mike and I head over to the L-Space show where I meet super sweet bloggers Mari and and Afroza. Aren't their names unique? They were so nice to let us cut in line with them too :)

7. I ended up feeling even more sick by Saturday night so once again Sunday we barely made it up and out of our hotel before the last TRESemmé show of the week: Gottex! Can't forget that Tylenol.

Mike and I are having fun backstage in the hair and makeup section.

9. Right before the Gottex show we realize we can see the beach. This is actually the closest we got to the beach the whole trip! It's okay though, we will just have to come back :)

10. The Profile and Blush Gottex show has begun and the models look perfect as usual. They have that beachy waves look going :)

15. Our first night really walking around Miami and we stop by Chalan on the Beach for a Peruvian dinner. It was delicious but I didn't want to eat the french fries because they were soggy! (Of course that is how it was supposed to be.)fashion blog

Hope you enjoyed my second recap! Thank you to TRESemmé for bringing me down to Miami SWIM 2015 to see the latest summer styles and hair trends. I had a blast!
It's great to be home but I'm off to LA for the Honda Fit Challenge next.
Happy Wednesday all!
