I was never really into the 70's style but these A-line skirts finally got me. My sister got a black suede one from H and M and when I tried it on, I just fell in love! I almost packed away my over the knee boots because of lack of space and the changing of seasons but I'm glad I didn't because I really liked them with this look.
My 36 Ways to Wear Read and Black post inspired me to make a post about pastels + white in honor of Spring 2016! One of my favorite ways to style pastels (soft, light colors like baby blue, mint, rose, gray, nude) is with white. And if you are a painter or have experience with paints, you might know that when you want to make a pastel color, all you have to do is add white! The more white paint you add, the softer the color. It has kind of the same effect with clothing. The whiter the look, the more spring-ish it feels. Solid, head to toe white actually is different though and I think it can work year round.
P.S Even though most of the items I'm wearing are no longer available I've linked to some similar items below!
All these beautiful cherry blossoms had me feeling like pink! Pink pants to be exact... which I just picked up at Zara and oh how I wish I grabbed the matching top (well it matched to me) but no matter - how do you guys like this combo?
I'm not sure how many of you go to Davis University in California but this Saturday at 6 pm I'll be hosting a meet and greet there! The Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Chapter is hosting a Benefit Ball Dinner to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network which provides healthcare for uninsured children. I'm doing it for an old friend and would love for any of my readers to stop by either just for the meet and greet or for the dinner too! Here is the link to buy tickets to the dinner (today is the last day) and here is the link to donate money to the fund if you can't go but still want to help.
I just couldn't resist pulling together the 36 red and black (often mixed with white and gold accents) looks I've styled over the course of this blog after mentioning it in my last post :) I wasn't even really sure I could find 30, but here you go! I hope you love it!
I also decided to put together some other collages for those rainy days (literally) and came up with a bunch of fun themes centered around seasonal trends or closet staples! Let me know if you guys have any ideas of what you want to see too! Like would you like it if I included links to similar items or mentioned what kind of activities these looks are good for?
I simply can't seem to resist red and black looks. This is likely my 100th... or realistically my 30th red and black outfit featured on this blog. I wish I got a shot of the back of my bodysuit which is pretty cute but luckily you can see it on the model. I tried very hard to match my lips to my deep red bodysuit as well and ended up using about four different lipsticks for this final effect.
P.S I am SO glad we shot these two days ago since the weather just turned upside down! The wind has been tearing apart trees, knocking over trash cans and putting out electricity lines everywhere! The rain has also come in a fury!
One of my more unique looks - what do you think? My ripped boyfriend denim needed a breather and my bare-all top was fun when paired with my new strappy bralette from Urban Outfitters. They have some really cool intimates that can easily spice up your style. I thought it would be cute to pair with my pink Bebe clutch too for that feminine touch.
Happy Valentine's Day! Today my boyfriend and I decided to take my cute little Yorkie to the beach and have a picnic :) I shot this yesterday and am so happy to admit it really feels like spring. Now while V-Day is everywhere and whether it is special to you or not, I hope you can appreciate this beautiful dress I just found at GUESS! It hugs in all the right places and it is actually really comfortable too!
National LOVE day or not, life is beautiful and I hope everyone has a LOVE-ly day!!
Here are just a few shots from my visit with my sister to our local beach "Seabright." It was a beautiful day though kind of chilly next to the water. The sunset was gorgeous and we had dinner outside at the Crow's Nest which was fun since most people go there for special occasions only. I might be going back this weekend for Valentine's Day but we'll see!
I spent the whole weekend in SF and it was so fun! I have a post coming up later with a recap of the Vanity Fair Super Bowl party I attended Saturday night, so stay tuned! The weather is and has been amazing - it feels like summer already and I love it. Also my boyfriend and I are scrambling to find something great to do Sunday for V-Day but everything seems to be sold out! What do you guys have planned?
This is just a daytime casual outfit, and I seriously am so happy with these jeans. They have the perfect rips and frayed hem. My top is really versatile and I'm sorry you can't see it under the cardigan that well but I will definitely be restyling it. I just added some edgy accessories and I was good.
This is one of my favorites styles, all in one. For starters, olives and browns are beautiful neutrals for yellow toned skin. Second, I know my legs are one of my best assets. So as you all might have noticed, I love short dresses. Plus these heels elongate my legs. But I feel most comfortable in higher necklines and A-line cuts. So a turtleneck mini dress is a great fit.
I would wear this almost anywhere! And I did... running errands, mall, grocery store. I carry flats in my car so I can change whenever I get tired of my heels. But anyways nothing interesting yesterday except a lot of cleaning and getting ready for the Vanity Fair party tonight! I'm so excited :)
BTW I named this "Olive You Not Again" because I thought of the title and thought hmmm that sounds familiar so I checked and what do you know, almost the same exact day 3 years ago I did a post called Olive You Not. I guess I just like to wear olive in February!
My favorite trend right now is the crop top with the high waist pants. I'm pretty sure we can all thank the Kardashians for that [trend]. Regarding the Kardashians I think they're beautiful but other than that I don't get what the big deal is about them? I mean I KNOW how they got famous but it's just crazy isn't it - once you're well known - infamous or not - you can do anything (as long as it's fairly interesting) and people want to keep knowing more and more about you.
Anyways I went with neutrals including this pretty soft pink mock turtleneck sleeveless crop top - wow that's a mouthful huh? Haha well I've actually had it in my closet for a while and as soon as I received this beautiful trench from Lands End I knew what I had to do! And I love the outcome. What do you guys think?
P.S When I stopped by Starbucks a lady came up to me and said EXCUSE ME - and I totally thought I was in her way - and she just said I am just IN LOVE with your shoes but I promise I won't steal them. And I was like woah that's nice but what a strange thing to add!
Happy Wednesday! I know Valentine's Day is coming up soon so I've put together a few of my favorite items for the special day :) I just love how perfect this lace dress is for Valentine's Day, and it comes in 11 colors! (My favorites are Crimson, Boysenberry and Aubergine). I'm also in love with the chandelier earrings and red heels (I mean, how could you not love those red lace ups?!).
P.S I also have the perfect red vday dress on sale from my closet, which you can find here. I wore it in one of my favorite birthday posts :)
P.P.S I'm starting to be more active on Pinterest, so you can also follow me there for more inspiration!
Here is a look I wore out the other day - the large Selma makes it more of a day time look. Same goes for the high neck - I wouldn't really wear a turtleneck out at night for a date look, would you? But that's what I love most about these boots - you can wear them day or night.
I really used this weekend to relax and clean... I still need to unpack from Thailand!! I'm happy because my boyfriend is back and we've gotten a lot of time to catch up.
