Macy's Semi-Annual Diamond Sale

Macy's semi-annual diamond sale just started and today I'm sharing my favorite picks! They always say "diamonds are a girl's best friend", but I have to say diamonds AND sales are a girl's best friend :)

Easter Pics!

Here are just a few photos from my shoot with all my sisters this Saturday! I put the photos through VSCO for a fun effect. We got our beautiful dresses from Lulu's and I'm excited to do another shoot with them for National Sibling Day which is coming up :)

Minimalistic

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Here is a look similar to the one I wore to SF last week for some meetings (as seen on my Instagram), only since I live in the South Bay it is a lot warmer and I was able to be less covered up. I also styled this top for you guys in this post as well, so you can see it goes well with skinny jeans and skirts too.

Roses are Red

I haven't done a monochromatic look in awhile (though the white clutch is kind of cheating) but I think head to toe red is just too fun. I considered white heels but these new heels from Charlotte Russe are just so cute and SO affordable! I tied mine in the front but the model had hers tied in the back. Which do you prefer?

Also, I did get the bottom layer of this dress hemmed because I think when you get shapeless/shift dresses, they really gotta hit mid/upper thigh for the most balance. And I do want to mention this dress wrinkles easy but it doesn't look bad a little wrinkled (I steamed it smooth literally 20 min before taking photos!). Also it's a day early, but HAPPY EASTER! I think we're going to have an Easter lunch (only if I do all the cooking of course) but otherwise a generally nice day enjoying the good weather.

White Haute

Happy Humpday!

I've mentioned before that it's kind of a hit or miss with Shein - the reason I chose this dress is because it was one of the items that had a lot of user photos. I love it when clothing sites allow for user photos of the products - anthropologie is another one that does that! Anyways I could see that this dress is really flattering on so many girls! The only problem is undergarments need to be truly "no-show" because the material is not double lined. Also be careful about wearing heels that have ankle straps with any skirt or dress that hits the knees or lower since it has a good chance of shortening your legs. I did it here but in retrospect think no ankle straps would have been a better choice.

Travel Diary: Austin, Texas

Last week I went to Texas with Sperry and styled four pairs of their shoes (including two of their new Paul Sperry styles), in addition to some great apparel pieces. I got to check out SXSW at the same time and try some amazing truck food! Austin is famous for their food trucks and they did not disappoint! One of my favorite places was Torchy's Tacos, I especially loved their salsa :) I heard some amazing music and saw so many murals.

I am not that good at bike riding but I can ride well enough so my sister and I decided to rent bikes and check out the trail next to the Colorado River. It was a beautiful ride even if a little short (I got tired haha) so I do recommend checking out a bike trail in Austin if you have a chance since they are known for being really bike friendly.

On the last day my sister and I took an Lyft to a restaurant I yelped and then decided to walk to a cafe around the corner (even though it was kind of raining and my hair got kind of ruined!!) and just so happened to spot a famous mural that we really thought we would never find! It tuns out it is really fun to find murals when you least expect it!

Peachy Green

Spring is almost here (2 days!) but it sure felt like summer in Texas! I was so lucky to visit this past week during their only sunny bout and even luckier I got to wear my favorite new pieces from Express. I absolutely adore crop tops and loose high waist shorts so I’m really trying to stock up this year! I thought it would be fun to mix and match olive with floral since usually I only match olive with black, brown or gold.

I also threw a cropped denim jacket on for some versatility. What I love about denim jackets is the texture they can add to a look, especially one like mine that has a beautiful medium wash. You can also wear it different ways like throwing it on over your shoulders or tying it around your waist.

Cozy Cardigans

I wore this last week while I was still in California and it was really quite cold-- you can even see my goosebumps in the close ups! Of course I don't usually spend that much time outside when it's cold but I still prefer to go outside to shoot a look since there is usually more light. If I wore this same look here in Texas I would be sweatin' like no other. I'm sort of kidding because it takes a lot more than a sweater on a hot day to make me sweat much but it is really so hot here!!!

Curl With the Whirl

Today I want to show you two looks I created with my new T3 interchangeable styling wands! I’ll be using the 1.25” clip barrel for my first look and the 1” straight barrel for my second. The 1” straight barrel is part of the Whirl Trio, which also includes 2 additional barrels. If you prefer clip barrels, you can purchase them separately.

For my first look, I went for polished but glamorous bombshell curls using their 1.25” clip barrel. I didn’t bother pinning or clipping hair, but just grabbed random pieces of hair until my whole head was curled. Of course, I can do this because my hair is fine. Those with thicker hair (like my sister) always have to separate and clip sections!

I loved that I only had to go through each section of hair once thanks to T3’s SinglePass technology! It basically means that the barrel is evenly heated so it creates consistent curls really fast. It’s especially helpful if you’re running late for a date because you can curl your hair quickly.

I wore a fun spring yellow dress and nude accessories to keep it elegant. I'm loving bright colors but my style is as fickle as the weather. One week it is sunny and warm, the next week is cold and overcast with a good chance of rain!

Sweet (Almost) Spring

This is a sweet spring look for day or night! I love the soft material of the skirt and the back of this top is so sexy! The light colors make it okay for daytime but the crop top and strappy heels make it great for going out as well. As you guys can tell I'm in the mood for pencil skirts lately but actually you won't see another one for awhile!

Baby it's BeetRoot

Here is just a look I threw together since it's been raining for a few days straight and the dark sky just made me feel like going black on black. I love my new Raye heels from Revolve - they are just beautiful.

I've been seeing so many movies lately - London Has Fallen - I rate it a C, Revenant - D, Deadpool - A, SpotLight - B. I also finally watched Pride and Prejudice on Netflix and I loved it. How about you guys! Any good movies to recommend? :)

Super Bowl Weekend Recap

As most of you are aware, last month was the Super Bowl and of course, there were plenty of Super Bowl parties but I was most excited about the Vanity Fair and Lands’ End Super Bowl Party.

To prep for the big weekend, I wanted to show some different looks to inspire casual and sporty outfits for a day out in the bay. I featured some of these looks on Instagram already so hopefully you saw them there if you were in need of inspo!

Even though the weather has been amazing, it is always better to be safe than sorry! I wore layers for easy adjustments to the temperature and one day I featured rain boots and a rain jacket because even on that sunny day, those clouds were looming!

Check out the Lands' End product details under each look!

Cobalt Kicks

I like wearing activewear sometimes because I feel more inclined to just stop at the gym and get a workout in at any moment. Plus fitness clothes are usually just SO comfortable. These new ECCO kicks work for the gym, trail blazing and also just daytime casual like ripped denim! I loved the pop they added to my otherwise fairly monochrome look (although I did luck out and have a blue bag to match!). Honestly I only have one other pair of workout sneakers because I'm really picky about non-heels. The ones I'm wearing here are from the Intrinsic 2 line at ECCO and not only are they really comfortable, they also slim my feet which often look too big. Their bold blue color is so pretty but they come in the ever versatile black and red as well. I'll show you another look with these cobalt babies on Instagram soon so don't forget to check it out.

Downtown Darling

Here is a look I wore and crazy enough it was really hot that day so this outfit felt perfect for some shopping downtown. I thought it would be fun to pair a top that tied in the back with a skirt that tied on the side. It was a nice little touch that just pulled the look together. Of course the black and gray theme was part of it too.

P.S. I think Shein quality is often hit or miss but both this top and skirt are perfect! Also pencil skirts are often hard to walk in but this skirt is super stretchy + their was a slit on the side so walking was a breeze!
