UNICO 20° 87° Riveria Maya Trip Recap

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Easter! I spent most of my weekend preparing for our upcoming trips to Charleston, D.C and Coachella and then my family went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner yesterday 🙂 I have been getting a lot of questions about my recent trip to UNICO 20° 87° in Riveria Maya so I thought I would recap my trip and round up all my outfit details for you guys!

UNICO 20° 87° invited us to come celebrate their first birthday so we got ready for some fun in the sun! Since it’s a long trek to get to Riveria May (about a 12 hour travel day from SF) we decided to break up our trip by first stopping in Palm Beach. The time difference is always hard for us to adjust since we lose 3 hours so that gave us some time to adjust to the time zone as well. From there it was just an hour flight to the Cancun airport and then about a 1.5 hour drive to the resort. UNICO had coordinated a shuttle for us so you will definitely want to make sure you have a ride set up and know where to meet them. As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were amazed by how beautiful it was! We had looked up some photos online but it is just so stunning in person. For our room we had a top floor ocean-view room with an outdoor bathtub and it was just gorgeous. The bottom level rooms have a swim-up pool (shared with the other lower level rooms) if you prefer to have a more private pool/relaxation area.

As soon as we got to our room we ordered some late-night food since we were starving. It’s an all-inclusive hotel which was amazing since we are always ordering room service and eating small snacks all throughout the day. I had only been to one other all-inclusive hotel before (and a couple of cruises–which are all-inclusive) and I don’t recall the food being that great, so we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and how good the food was! Every morning we would order the healthy breakfast with coffee and almond milk, and for lunch we would usually go to the lunch buffet or eat at the cafe (their coffee is so good!). There were a few different restaurants and my favorite was the Japanese restaurant, Mura House and the Italian restaurant. The restaurants can get pretty booked during dinner time so I recommend you make reservations!

There are a bunch of different activities the hotel offers like: taco night, movie night (they set up cushions outside and had popcorn and snacks), floating yoga and excursions to the cenotes. We arrived pretty late to the hotel, so we didn’t end up doing the centoes excursion since it left early the next morning, but I heard it was a blast. It is a long day and there’s walking/hiking so if you sign up for one of those excursions be sure to pack accordingly!

And of course there is a spa–which is a must for any vacation! They offer massages, facials, body wraps and they have a salon and beauty bar. There were lots of bachelorette/wedding groups so it’s perfect if you need to get prepped for any of your events.
