Aspen in the Fall Pt.2

One of my favorite spots we visited during our stay in Aspen was Maroon Bells. It’s funny because we expected it to be a far drive from town but it’s actually only like 15 minutes away! Fall is such a popular time to visit Maroon Bells that you can only get there by bus from 8 a.m-5 p.m. I think we went just late enough in October (and at sunset) so we had almost the whole place to ourselves. It was the perfect way to end the trip!

For the second half of our trip we moved over to Hotel Jerome and my sister and I both agreed it is one of our favorite hotels we’ve been to. The interior is so beautiful and cozy and every room has so much character. We ate at both of their restaurants (the photo above is from breakfast) and everything we ordered was delicious. We also loved that they stock the min bar with drinks and snacks and everything is complimentary (they only charge to have it refilled) plus they even offer complimentary rides around town! The more you travel, the more amenities and services like these stand-out and are greatly appreciated.

 (sooo soft and cozy!!)

While we were there, the weather was sort of all over the place. We had the one day of snow and some on-and-off showers, but the other days were beautiful. It was definitely boots and sweater weather. The temperatures really drop over night and I would wear this if we were walking around town. This jacket is called their “teddy peacoat” and is really is like wearing a big teddy bear! It is soo soft and cozy. I also own the Copper version (love the color for fall) and I have my eye on the Wine one! Once you feel the jacket you will fall in love.

On our drive back to Denver there were no shortages of beautiful places to pull over and see. One of the spots was the Clinton Gulch Dam Reservoir which was just soo breathtaking!! It’s crazy because this was just off the highway but it felt like we were transported to a completely different place!

These photos are absolutely stunning! My dad lived in Aspen years ago and we've been talking about heading there as a family. This post is inspiring me to plan the trip! That and that cute Free People jacket. I won't get much wear out of that in the Bay Area, but it would be perfect for Colorado!
