Banana Republic camel coat [sold out, similar here and a coat for under $100 here] | Turtleneck [similar]| Free People skirt | Gucci bag | Over the knee boots [on sale!]
This easy-going look was a breeze to throw on. I love how a simple but chic camel coat like this one can make a look. I feel like I can match a camel coat to so many different outfits which is why, since this particular one sold out, I was able to find quite a few similar ones for you all (linked below and at the end of this post). Also, my over the knee boots are so comfy and actually come in three colors. I think they’re even on sale right now too!
My sister and I were thinking that the trees would have turned more orange yellow by the time we shot this, but alas, France didn’t experience much of fall color in 2018. (It was too warm.) Over the years that my sister and I have tried to capture the beauty of fall in our photos, we have found that trees don’t change color when the temperatures fluctuate too much. There really needs to be a continuation of warm, sunny days with cool and crisp but not freezing nights. We have also noticed extreme wind or rain can cause trees to lose their leaves. (By the way, if spring or fall color is out already, don’t be afraid to do a photo shoot in the rain! The way that the water reflects the color in the leaves or flowers is just stunning!)
I often get DM’s on Instagram about what hotel I’m staying at each particular location I’ve traveled to. I’m not sure if you guys remember this post about the Southwest Companion Pass? Well generally we choose our hotel based on three things: location, price and how many Southwest points we can get! In the case of Paris, we ended up choosing Hotel Saint Petersbourg Opera.
This hotel is a great location and the room we had was very quiet so we got excellent sleep. I didn’t think the daily breakfast was all that great and the general age of the other tourists staying there were much older than us. This made me feel like the hotel wasn’t very trendy haha!
Also, I wanted to mention our favorite Japanese restaurant that we discovered on this trip: Sanukiya! If you like udon, or even just very high quality Japanese food, this is a spot to try. If you can come during an odd hour, like 4 pm, chances are good that you will be seated right away. If not, or if you have a larger group, don’t be surprised if you have to wait around 20 min. We went three times and two out of the three we had to wait. Luckily the first time there was no wait, because if there had been, I’m not sure we would have stuck around to even try it once since we were pretty much starving 😊
XOXO
