Hey guys! I’m back from Florida! I’m happy to say my sister and I shot two blog posts, one in Miami and one in Palm Beach, so I’ll use each post to talk about some of my favorite spots in each location. We got really lucky with the weather, we were expecting rain about half of our trip but it actually only rained literally the last hour of our trip!!
I’ve previously only been in Miami during July for swim week so it came as a huge surprise just how perfect the weather really was! In July it is sooo hot and humid but in February it’s warm with a breeze and a possible hint of humidity.
The look we shot for this post was one of my favorite looks of the whole trip. It’s such a comfy set (comfy as pjs if I do say), plus I had a big beach bag for all my stuff and flats are always a win. It’s interesting because this set is one size fits all and if you’re like me you’re probably wondering how that is possible. Well it’s just super duper stretchy! I’d say for my size, the material probably bunched a bit more on the skirt, and felt a tiny bit loose even on the waist, but it looks fine anyways. I do think it could probably stretch up to a size 10 or so!
I would like to recommend our hotel but we actually did not feel like it was worth recommending by the end of our stay. It is amazing how many things went wrong and I don’t feel like getting into it, but I’ll just say we stayed at The Redbury hotel.
We ate a quite a few places, all within walking distance of our hotel, and one of the best places we ate at was Sushi Song. It was probably the furthest we had to walk but it’s okay because walking is good for you 🙂 They had really unique rolls and the spicy tuna tartare was kind of amazing.
Another place we really liked was Joe and the Juice, but I recently found out that it is a chain and there are a ton of Joe and the Juice’s in California haha! We loveeed the spicy tuna sandwich. Omg are you guys noticing a trend??!
Restaurant #3 was Orange Blossom. We got breakfast here one day and it tasted great and was healthy too!! I think we ordered a kale quinoa dish as well as an avocado toast with egg. We are trying to eat more plant based but when almost no one has meatless alternatives and you can’t cook for yourself, it is pretty difficult.
It was so cool because we realized so many of our blogger friends were visiting Florida the same time as us. We even found that two of them were staying at the hotel almost right across the street! Erica from @Fashionedchicstyling and Lucy from @Lucyswhims are the most high fashion ladies I know. We met them in Provence during our Loccitane collab a few months ago! So that was super fun and we were able to get drinks and tapas one night (I mean I don’t drink but I sure ate some tapas!) and yeah that was the only socializing we did the whole trip haha!
It’s funny because a lot of people look at my photos on Instagram and just see the pretty moments we took a snapshot of, and they think oh what an easy life – but the reality is we are running back and forth from the hotel to change and also get some air conditioning (in the middle of the day it did get a little too hotttt) and then off we go to find a new shooting location, and oh yeah we have to find time to eat too! When we travel it’s a lot of hard work since we want to take advantage of the beautiful location as much as possible.
I really think traveling is so great though, it inspires me, I get to be more creative and dress for new temperatures and environments! We get to try new foods and sometimes meet cool people, we just get outside of our comfort zone and it’s awesome.
