GLOW ADVANCED Inner Beauty Powder + My Go-To Smoothie Recipe

*This post is in partnership with Sephora.

Sephora is one of my favorite beauty companies and I’m so happy they started carrying products for wellness products too (check out their online wellness guide here!)! My mom always taught me that beauty comes from the inside. So I’ve always tried to eat my veggies and fruits. But it wasn’t until 2019 and after I read Dr. Gregors book “How Not to Die” (a wonderful book with facts to back up a plant-based diet) that I made a resolution – this year I would try to truly understand more about the foods I put in my body and what they do for me physically as well.

To be completely honest, I was MOST interested in seeing how changing my diet and water consumption, cutting out sugar and simple carbs, would help me in my current fitness journey. But I was pleasantly surprised at how everything I was doing affected my skin and nails too.

One of the best things about Sephora is their reviews – I love reading everyone’s reviews and since they are one of the most popular beauty websites, they sure get the most reviews too! Upon discovering their wellness section, I was introduced to The Beauty Chef GLOW ADVANCED Inner Beauty Powder and I love it. It’s so easy to get caught up on what we put on the outside of our skin, hair and nails, that I forget what creates the canvas is really the most important part. I know I learned it before, but I somehow forgot all about probiotics… Probiotics help support your digestive tract. Having a healthy digestive tract is important because what’s going on inside your body can have a huge effect on the outside your body (aka your skin!). Acne, eczema, psoriasis and dry skin are all skin conditions that can be closely tied to poor gut health.

To take it even further, I really had no idea that you have to eat PRE-biotics to sustain the PRO-biotics!  Prebiotics are found in foods like asparagus, onions, chickpeas and lentils (legumes in general) and artichokes. Probiotics are in foods like yogurt, miso, sauerkraut, kefir, natto, tempeh and kimchi. I LOVE all those foods… except tempeh… working on that one!! Research shows it’s best to eat these foods several times a week.

The Beauty Chef takes it even farther though! The ingredients in their Inner Beauty Powder are all bio-fermented, which is simply amazing! Fermented foods naturally produce probiotics, good enzymes, B vitamins and omega-3’s. When it’s bio-fermented, it means it is more stable and easily absorbed by the body!

When I first started taking the Beauty Chef’s Inner Beauty I didn’t notice results right away. I think it took about a week for my skin to clear up and become less oily, and two weeks for my splinting nails to be strong again. My stomach is flatter too which will be great for summer.

It’s so easy to add to my day-to-day diet since I already love making smoothies in the morning. My current favorite morning smoothie recipe is: 1 scoop protein powder, 5 frozen strawberries, 1/2 large banana, 1/2 c toasted oats and almond milk, 1 spoonful almond butter, 1/2 tbsp flaxseed, dash of cinnamon, 1 tsp Amazing Greens powder, 1 tbsp Amla powder, 1 spoonful Inner Beauty Powder.

SO MUCH GOODNESS in one cup, I’m telling ya! I also love that the Inner Beauty Powder has a sort of berry taste and is easy to mix with some nut milk or just water too! I hope you guys liked this post and learned something too! Let me know in the comments if you guys try to include probiotics in your diet or if you like to make protein smoothies too!  XOXO
