Hey guys, long time no see! For those of you that keep up with me on Instagram, I’m back home, and last week I was in LA for the Adobe Max Summit. It was really an awesome solo trip but more about that later! About two weeks ago, Jazz and I went to Oregon/Washington to experience fall on the west coast.
It’s truly a word of a difference comparing the east coast during fall to the west coast during fall. For one thing, I think the leaves usually change sooner on the east, maybe because it’s colder. Aside from that though, you can just tell the east is more traditional and old school and the west is more modern. It makes for very different vibes and I love them both. In terms of color, the east coast has more orange trees and the west coast has possibly more red or yellow. That’s from casual observation, so I may be wrong.
We were very lucky with the weather this year in both locations, so that was amazing. The temperature did drop dramatically on our last 2 days in Oregon/Washington though so shooting became rather difficult. When we shot this look I was semi freezing haha!
This year, Jasmine said we were lucky to be able to book a suite at Sonesta Inn & Suites since she said in previous years they have always been sold out. One of the best things about Sonesta is that it is dog friendly. Jazz and I both wanted to bring our dogs and I’m so glad we could. The second best thing is that Sonesta has kitchens! I really try to eat healthy when we travel and having a kitchen is so helpful.
We were a little late to see the peak this year which made shooting harder but it just challenged us to try new places which is always a good thing! One place we decided to check out for the first time was Kiyokawa Farms. They have a beautiful apple orchard and they are pretty close to Portland. The only problem was I didn’t realize their farm wasn’t organic!!! Rosie and Sophie also had sooo much fun on the farm though 🙂 And we did shoot on the farm so I’ll be posting those photos soon!!
This cardigan is the perfect neutral cardigan to throw over anything this season. I know we are moving into winter soon so depending on where you live, you may need more than a cardigan. Cardigans are also nice for layering and for staying cozy at home. I love this form fitting Tiger Mist dress, it really hugged me in all the right places! I would definitely suggest sizing up as I could barely zipper an XS, but S was perfect (xs is my usual size)!
I am once again wearing my favorite over the knee boots, I literally get compliments from people on the street! If you wear them alone like this, I suggest wearing thick socks and also leg warmers under. It’s better than wearing 2 pairs of socks because the foot part will be too tight. When I wear these boots with jeans I wear one pair of thick socks only and it’s enough to fill them out and keep them up. My legs are just so dang skinny, no matter how strong they get haha!
Jazz and I shot this look in Downtown Camas and it was seriously adorable. We stopped at a cute cafe where I grabbed a chai latte and a sandwich. The barista was so sweet too! I loved the cute street lamps and the old style brick buildings. An icy wind was blowing so we didn’t stay that long but I would love to go back 🙂
